As a Special Care Nursery RN, you'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to neonatal patients while partnering closely with physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members. Responsibilities include:
- Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized patient care
- Providing skilled nursing care to newborns with specialized medical needs
- Collaborating with healthcare team members to ensure excellent patient outcomes
- Educating and supporting families throughout their baby's care journey
- Accurately documenting care and maintaining regulatory and quality standards
- Delegating and coordinating patient care activities as appropriate
- Participating in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
- Cross-training within Postpartum and Pediatric units to support comprehensive family-centered care
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire
- Minimum one year of acute care neonatal experience OR six months of experience in a Level III NICU or higher
- Demonstrated expertise in neonatal patient care
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Neonatal ICU experience
- Additional experience within Women's and Children's inpatient services
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 6 months of hire
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification within 6 months of hire (required for all except Level III NICU caregivers)
