Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

PeaceHealth is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team in a Full-Time, 0.90 FTE, Variable Shift position. Salary Range: $45.78 - $82.98 per hour

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. Multiple openings may be available.

What You'll Do

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic emergency setting.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
  • Delegate and direct patient care activities in accordance with team members' education, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly within the electronic health record.
  • Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and priorities.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and department initiatives.
  • Maintain professional competency through continuing education and professional development opportunities.

What You'll Bring Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • Minimum of one year of recent Emergency Department experience or current orientation within an Emergency Department and ability to practice independently.
  • Demonstrated experience managing:
    • Cardiac patients
    • Complex medical-surgical patients
    • Pediatric patients
    • Multiple trauma patients
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Emergency Department Certifications

The following certifications are required within the specified timeframes:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) within 6 months
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months
