What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with professional practice standards.
- Document patient care accurately and timely within the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care.
- Delegate and direct patient care activities consistent with team members' education, credentials, and competencies.
- Promote a supportive, patient and family-centered care environment.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and departmental initiatives.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and development.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- One year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience, or
- Currently oriented and able to provide independent patient care within the department.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring AWHONN (EFM)
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of age-specific growth, development, and patient care principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Understanding and support of organizational policies, procedures, and values.
- Basic computer and documentation skills.

This position requires the ability to:
- Safely assist with patient handling using established protocols and assistive equipment.
- Perform frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, and standing activities.
- Perform hands-on CPR when required.
- Work in a busy, sometimes noisy healthcare environment.
- Maintain visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient care.
- Work around biohazards, bodily fluids, and airborne particles while following safety protocols.
