Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery

PeaceHealth

Position: Full-Time, 0.90 FTE

Shift: Nights

Pay Range: $45.78 - $82.98 per hour

Hiring bonus and relocation assistance may be available.

About The Role

As a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse at PeaceHealth, you will provide expert nursing care to patients throughout the childbirth journey while supporting families during some of life's most important moments. You'll work alongside an interdisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional clinical care and creating a positive, family-centered experience.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening available.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care in accordance with professional practice standards.
  • Document patient care accurately and timely within the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and multidisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Delegate and direct patient care activities consistent with team members' education, credentials, and competencies.
  • Promote a supportive, patient and family-centered care environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, infection prevention, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and development.

What We're Looking For Required Education

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

Preferred Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Required Experience

  • One year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience, or
  • Currently oriented and able to provide independent patient care within the department.

Required Credentials

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.

Required Within 6 Months of Hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring AWHONN (EFM)

Working Environment

This position requires the ability to:

  • Safely assist with patient handling using established protocols and assistive equipment.
  • Perform frequent pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, kneeling, and standing activities.
  • Perform hands-on CPR when required.
  • Work in a busy, sometimes noisy healthcare environment.
  • Maintain visual and auditory acuity necessary for patient care.
  • Work around biohazards, bodily fluids, and airborne particles while following safety protocols.
