Position Details
- Schedule: Full-time (0.90 FTE), Nights
- Pay Range: $45.78–$82.98 per hour
- Pay is based on factors such as education, training, experience, seniority, and applicable union agreements.
- This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (union position).
- Multiple openings may be available.
What You'll Do
- Assess, plan, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record.
- Delegate tasks appropriately to other healthcare team members.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families.
- Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and development.
- Follow hospital policies and participate in quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
- At least one year of recent Emergency Department experience, or currently working independently in an ED setting.
- Ability to independently care for:
- Cardiac patients
- Complex medical-surgical patients
- Pediatric patients
- Trauma patients
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Knowledge of age-specific patient care across all life stages.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to patient- and family-centered care.
- Ability to follow and support hospital policies and procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): within 6 months
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): within 6 months
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification: within 6 months
- TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course): within 12 months
- Safely handle patients using proper equipment and procedures.
- Push/pull medical equipment up to 45 lbs.
- Perform CPR when needed.
- Frequently bend, reach, kneel, squat, and move throughout the department.
- Lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
- Exposure to biohazards, body fluids, and airborne particles.
- Ability to work in a busy, noisy environment.
- Normal vision and hearing (with corrective devices if needed).
- Strong verbal communication skills.
