This is a remote position.

Position Title: Director, Fiber Design & Construction (FDC) Reporting


Base Salary: $154,111 to $189,686 annually DOE

Bonus: Target annual bonus

Job Summary

The Director, FDC Budget & Vertical Reporting drives financial alignment, operational reporting, and lifecycle management across all fiber deployment programs at Ziply Fiber. The role connects financial planning, budget performance, scorecards, and operational data to ensure predictable execution aligned with company goals. This leader partners with Finance, Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, and Program Execution to turn operational realities into accurate forecasts and actionable reporting. The position strengthens decision-making by surfacing insights, streamlining approvals, and enforcing operating rhythms that improve visibility and execution.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial Alignment

· Own financial planning and performance alignment for all FDC workstreams; ensuring budgets, forecasts & operational capacity are synchronized.

· Drive strategic budget decisions through clear financial modeling, scenario planning and operational insight.

· Partner with Finance to ensure forecasts reflect true WIP conditions, permitting backlogs & construction progress.

· Deliver executive-ready reporting that contextualizes financial performance against build milestones & readiness.

· Establish rhythm of the business processes that tie operational performance directly to budget accountability.


Lifecycle Management

· Manage WIP health, with a focus on reducing aging work that drives IDC and delays service-ready dates.

· Establish clear SLAs & interval expectations for each build milestone, creating predictable lifecycle movement.

· Identify & decompose aging WIP—especially permitting—to surface specific blockers, owners & required next steps.

· Drive cross-functional accountability to ensure work progresses within defined intervals and escalations trigger timely corrective action.


Analytics & Tools

· Lead development of clear, accurate & actionable reporting that improves visibility into FDC performance.

· Build & maintain dashboards analytics that surface trends, risks & operational insights for executive stakeholders.

· Improve data quality and integration across SiteTracker, IQGeo, GIS tools & address management systems.

· Translate complex operational & financial data into simple insights leadership can act on.


Program Compliance

· Establish & enforce financial compliance standards including cost package review, approval workflows & accounting guideline adherence.

· Support audit requirements by ensuring FDC processes & reporting meet internal/external compliance.

· Monitor vendor financial performance across contracts, invoices, and unit-cost models to ensure spend aligns with expected outcomes.

· Provide an objective view of high-level vendor performance, identifying execution gaps, unit-cost outliers, and delivery risks across the vendor ecosystem.


Leadership & Team Development

· Build and lead high-performing analytics, reporting, and financial operations team within FDC.

· Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

· Lead with a hands-on approach—engaging directly with data, tools, and operational partners to drive clarity and accelerate execution.

· Provide transparent, concise, and data-driven updates to executives, enabling timely and informed decisions.


Other Duties

· Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.


Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.

· Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in telecom, network operations, financial planning, PMO or large-scale infrastructure reporting.

· Minimum five (5) years of people leadership experience, including managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.

· Strong understanding of the fiber build lifecycle.

· Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, budget forecasting, KPI development and operational reporting.

· Strong analytical capability, ability to interpret large data sets & convert insights into actionable recommendations.

· Familiarity with permitting, utility coordination and construction workflows and how they impact forecast accuracy.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet and analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Power Platform).


Preferred Qualifications:

· Master’s Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.

· Experience with SiteTracker, IQGeo, GIS layers, address management systems or other telecom workflow systems.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

· Ability to communicate complex financial and operational concepts clearly to technical and executive audiences.

· Skilled at building predictable reporting rhythms and enforcing accuracy across large cross-functional teams.

· Able to manage competing priorities, work independently & maintain sound judgment in fast-paced environments.

· Exceptional ability to translate operational constraints into strategic financial implications.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office setting.
