This is a remote position.
Position Title: Cyber Security Engineer
$90,000 to $150,000 annually DOE

Job Summary:
This is a remote position.
The Cyber Security Engineer applies Information Technology (IT) security principles, methods, and
security products to protect and maintain the availability, integrity, confidentiality and accountability of
Company IT resources and physical security access of property and personnel. Accountable for
executing assigned tasks to implement the goals of the Company Information Security initiatives, on time
and within approved budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities listed below are a range of duties performed by the employee

- Maintain security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus
software, and encryption tools. - Configure and manage security tools and technologies to protect the organization's network and
systems. - Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and
address weaknesses in the infrastructure. - Patch and update systems to address known vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement security playbooks to handle security incidents effectively, breaches, and
cyberattacks. - Investigate security incidents, collect evidence, and work to mitigate and prevent future
occurrences. - Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with industry
regulations and best practices. - Provide security awareness training to employees to promote a security-conscious culture.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for unusual or suspicious activities.
- Analyze security data to identify trends, potential threats, and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory
requirements and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI). - Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies.
- Research and recommend security enhancements and solutions to keep Ziply Fiber protected.
- Must be available to work regular business hours Pacific Standard Time.
- Must also be available to work on-call, evenings and weekends as needed.
- Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.
Qualifications:
- BS in Information Technology or equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 3-5 years direct Cyber Engineer or information assurance experience.
- Strong experience working with market standard Vulnerability Assessment tools.
- Must have experience with network monitoring, network security, network equipment
programming, firewall configurations and DLP solutions, log monitoring and event correlation. - Experience with policy and process documentation.
- Understanding of DNS, DHCP and LDAP.
- System hardening experience utilizing STIGs, CIS or USGCB.
- Security Incident Response experience.
- Strong oral and written communication abilities with experience writing policies.
- Must possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Must be able to serve as a technical resource to IT staff.
- CISM, CISA, CRIS, CISSP, Security+ or similar certification preferred.

• Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Work Authorization:

Work Environment:
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a
computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work is primarily a modern office
setting.
