WECU is seeking a full-time Business Experience Sales Manager to join our Business Experience team located in Bellingham, WA. This position is responsible for leading the sales, business development, relationship growth, and market expansion efforts of the Business Experience Team (BXT). This role oversees Business Experience Officers and Business Relationship Specialists, providing leadership, coaching, performance management, and strategic direction to drive growth in business deposits, treasury management services, business member acquisition, and overall relationship profitability.

The Business Experience Sales Manager partners closely with branch leadership, lending teams, BXT Operations, marketing, and executive leadership to develop and execute strategies that increase market penetration, strengthen referral partnerships, expand business member relationships, and position the organization as the primary financial institution for businesses within its service area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support strategic projects related to business banking, treasury management, payments, and business member experience.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Business Experience Officers and Business Relationship Specialists.
  • Recommend and execute individual and team sales goals, performance expectations, and activity standards.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, pipeline reviews, performance evaluations, and career development discussions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, relationship building, consultative selling, and exceptional member service.
  • Provide ongoing sales training focused on business banking, treasury management, relationship management, and business development techniques.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention of high-performing team members.
  • Develop and execute business banking growth strategies focused on deposits, treasury management services, business member acquisition, and relationship expansion.
  • Drive achievement of departmental growth goals through prospecting initiatives, referral programs, networking activities, and targeted market development efforts.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve production, effectiveness, and market penetration.
  • Lead efforts to increase business deposit balances, treasury management adoption, merchant services utilization, and business lending referrals.
  • Assist team members in developing strategies for key prospects, large relationships, and complex opportunities.
  • Maintain accountability for overall departmental sales results and growth objectives.
  • Monitor prospect pipelines, relationship opportunities, referral activity, and business development efforts across the team.
  • Ensure consistent use of CRM systems, sales tracking tools, and relationship management processes.
  • Review production metrics and activity levels to identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps.
  • Develop action plans to improve sales effectiveness, conversion rates, and relationship growth.
  • Provide leadership support for significant sales opportunities and strategic relationship development initiatives.
  • Utilize data and reporting to guide decision-making and improve sales performance.
  • Lead the organization's business banking presence within the marketplace.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key business leaders, centers of influence, chambers of commerce, trade associations, and community organizations.
  • Support team participation in networking events, business development activities, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the organization's visibility and reputation within the business community.
  • Develop partnerships that generate business referrals and strengthen market positioning.
  • Partner with branch leadership to create and maintain a strong business referral culture throughout the organization.
  • Develop training programs and sales tools that improve business referral generation from branch staff.
  • Collaborate with retail leadership to ensure alignment between branch objectives and business banking growth initiatives.
  • Monitor referral activity and conversion performance across branch networks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve collaboration between business banking, retail banking, lending, and operational teams.
  • Support Business Experience Officers in managing key business relationships and significant growth opportunities.
  • Assist with retention strategies for major business members and high-value relationships.
  • Promote consistent relationship management standards and service expectations throughout the team.
  • Ensure business members receive proactive, consultative guidance and exceptional service.
  • Participate in strategic relationship reviews and member retention initiatives.
  • Ensure sales and business development activities comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote adherence to BSA/AML, privacy, fair banking, and risk management standards.
  • Maintain oversight of relationship management practices and sales activities to ensure ethical and compliant behavior.
  • Support internal audits, examinations, and quality assurance reviews.
  • Escalate risk concerns and assist with remediation efforts when necessary.
  • Partner with the Director of Business Experience to develop and execute long-term business banking growth strategies.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive activity, member needs, and sales performance data.
  • Recommend improvements to products, services, pricing, sales processes, and member experience initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental planning, budgeting, staffing, and strategic initiatives.
  • Champion innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across the Business Experience Team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5-7 years of experience in business banking, commercial banking, treasury management, business development, or financial services sales.
  • Prior sales leadership, coaching, or team management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in business relationship development, deposit acquisition, treasury management sales, and business banking growth.
  • Strong understanding of business banking products, treasury management services, merchant services, and business lending solutions.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop sales professionals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, sales reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is from $96,136 to $135,721 annually.
