WECU is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Business Intelligence team located in Bellingham WA. This is an exciting time at WECU and as a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for reporting, dashboards, data visualizations, data mining, and predictive models developed per use specifications to help drive strategic decision making and to measure improvements in key metrics. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop reports and dashboards using Tableau. Your work will directly impact the success of our organization and help drive growth and profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop highly visual, interactive, and layered Business Intelligence solutions using tools like Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Deliver essential enterprise reporting using Excel and SSRS.
  • Ability to read and adapt SQL queries to meet changing business needs, preference for MS SQL.
  • Responsible for data preparation, data blending, the creation of data models /sets using various applications including application development.
  • Develop production reports originating from the Data Warehouse to be used by the business for ongoing analytical and strategic operation plans.
  • Triage requests, gather user requirements, and facilitate ad hoc report and data requests with a quick turn-around.
  • Define and document processes, best practices, and strategies for existing and future BI solutions, optimizing business efficiencies as it relates to process improvement.
  • Investigate and report on complex data interactions to help identify and address key strategic business opportunities.
  • Work with department leaders to analyze information and produce actionable intelligence.
  • Assist the Director for Business Intelligence with intelligence-gathering and reporting.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence team to identify and prioritize additional database development needs.
  • Follow policy and procedures related to Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily to ensure compliance with current regulations. Follow policy and procedures related to SARs by reporting suspicious activity to the Compliance department. Completes mandatory BSA/AML annual training via online web course.
  • Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Follows WECU’s policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and may also assist others to complete tasks and work assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Social Science or related field preferred or equivalent of experience.
  • Must possess an advanced background in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Proficiency in T-SQL or PL/SQL programming languages and familiarity with relational database models is required. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts (ETL, OLAP, data integration, data marts, Kimball Design) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with basic algebraic and financial equations and formulas is required.
  • Excellent database skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Must be able to interact with business units and collect requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to operate computer hardware and detect and resolve operational problems.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • Ability to represent the Credit Union in a positive, professional manner in person, on the telephone, and in written correspondence.
  • Ability to work accurately with figures and perform detailed work.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $ $79,532. to $112,280. annually.
