Job Description

This newly created position will service Fund Accounting and support both business and technology-based strategy goals. The role of the Mutual Funds Accounting ETF Process and Audit Oversight Specialist is to plan, monitor and work on assigned projects and audits to best meet project objectives of mitigating risk and increasing efficiency with ETF related processes. Opportunity to directly contribute to US Bank by supporting our business lines in enhancing a digital/automated enterprise.

Provide high value service to internal and external clients in an environment that promotes U.S. Bank’s culture and values. Ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Contributes to efficiency, productivity, and process improvements to drive exceptional service and risk mitigation. Provide proactive strategy and advice to management. Be the bridge between upper management and the teams tasked with the execution of ETF related processes and audits. Make sure to report regularly on the progress of ETF related projects and ensure the project is staying on the approved schedule.

Planning Resources

  • Develop plan defining scope and resource/technology availability. Coordinate overall project communication, risk, and issue resolution.

Controls/Procedures Review

  • Assists with the assessment of the effectiveness of controls that help ensure ongoing compliance with corporate policies and business line procedures. Contribute to department projects, documentation and testing/training as needed. Work with Fund Accounting to document procedures and ensure changes are implemented according to department/corporate policy. Assist with creation of client specific procedures and ensuring high risk items are escalated to management for approval.

Projects

  • Work on team projects or support other team members in their efforts to improve processes within Fund Accounting. Ensure projects have clear goals and sufficient detailed plans. Develops and evolves team goals and initiatives. Prepare and provide up to date project updates and analysis.

Overview of Tasks Performed

  • Create/Update Procedures (20%) - Analyze USBFS critical procedures and then both log and lead projects that will increase procedures and mitigate risk. Work with Fund Accounting, Fund Administration and Support Teams to create procedures and update SOC 1 controls, place them in standard format and recommend changes, as necessary. This will polish procedure writing skills and help design strong procedures and controls for the business line.
  • Process Improvements (20%) - Identify processes that needs to be improved. Discern the issues and recommend options based on facts and data. Gain acceptance of ideas from manager, colleagues, and project team members.
  • Internal/External Audit Lead (30%) – Take the lead role with the ETF related auditors and coordinate with Fund Accounting to ensure that all audit requests are provided on a timely basis.
  • Project Management (30%) – Prepare and provide up to date project updates and analysis.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
- Five or more years of experience in accounting or finance activities

Preferred Skills/Experience
- Advanced knowledge of accounting, reporting, and analysis
- Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
- Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $86,360.00 - $101,600.00
