The Point of Sale (POS) Assistant role is to support and maintain the POS systems and peripherals while providing excellent customer service. This position also helps to support in-house computer systems, desktops and other hardware associated with our POS and other systems.
Wage Range: $19.00 - $28.50
Full-time, variable hours, early morning, evening and weekend availability required
POS Maintenance
Data base Maintenance
· Ensure data is accurate
· New item entry and price updates
· Produce and post signs, shelf tags and other materials
· Fulfill requests and assist with resolution of issues
Floor Maintenance
· Maintain shelf tags and signs
Promotions Processing
· Reconcile and process promotions
· Produce signs; in-house and through print company (may include driving to pick up)
· Organize and distribute promotional materials
· Requires early morning sign posting shift
Inventory
· Perform product inventories on schedule (e.g., Auto Orders)
o Support quarterly inventory: work with POS Supervisor on setup of worksheets in POS and assist with departmental counts. Requires evening shift.
Keep updated on changes to software and systems
Special projects as assigned by Manager
Other duties as assigned which may include IT Support
Qualifications and Skills
Experience with Windows based programs
Prior experience with data maintenance a plus
Working technical knowledge of current operating systems and standards
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language
Self-motivated and directed
Keen attention to detail
Analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong customer-service orientation
Essential Physical Requirements
Ability to work some early morning and some late-night shifts, as needed
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer
Components.
Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals
