Description

Job Description: The official (referee) is responsible for performing all official duties for each Indoor Soccer contest in the fairest, safest and most consistent manner.

Paid $20/game.

Games take place on Saturdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

This position is for you, if you can:

  • Assess the facility/field conditions to ensure safety for players.

  • Meet with coaches/players prior to the start of games to ensure understanding of any rules variations that may be in effect.

  • Arrive 15 minutes before your first scheduled game starts.

  • Ensure the games begin and end at scheduled times.

  • Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, coaches, and fellow officials by enforcing all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship, and officiating consistently with the YMCA youth/adult sports philosophy.

  • Build a good rapport with all players (adult and youth), coaches, and parents.

  • Enforce facility rules/procedures at all times.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience in playing, coaching and/or officiating team sports. Must be aged 16 or older.

  • Understand fundamentals of sport.

  • Knowledge of Indoor Soccer rules.

  • Be able to demonstrate positive and healthy aspects of sport and sport conduct.

  • Possess the ability to build good rapport with all players, coaches, and parents.

  • Must be able to use sound judgment and enforce game/facility rules to all patrons.

  • Good communication skills.
