Located in the fertile Skagit Valley of Washington State, Skagit Farmers Supply has served the local agricultural community since 1934. As a local co-operative, the company provides farmers, homeowners, businesses, families and the communities in the Pacific Northwest with products & services through agronomy, energy, retail, wholesale & milling operations.
The company’s agronomy division is searching for class A or B commercial drivers (CDL) to locally deliver granular & liquid fertilizer, crop protection and other agricultural products to locations in northwest Washington.
Job Responsibilities
Candidates should be flexible with a great attitude while ensuring excellent customer service. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Driving straight truck (typically dual axle, 10 – 13 speed vehicles) to deliver bulk and bagged fertilizer in the local area (home every night).
- Safely operating a forklift.
- Follow directions verbally, written and on maps.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, state and federal safety regulations.
- Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships.
- Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid class A or B interstate CDL (without a manual transmission restriction).
- Possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
- Commitment to excellence especially in terms of providing excellent customer service.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Proven track record of being safe, dependable and reliable.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possess CDL tanker and hazardous materials endorsements.
- Previous experience operating commercial vehicles with a DOT-regulated employer.
- Experience safely operating forklifts, small engines and/or various hand and power tools.
- Experience operating agricultural equipment and/or working on or around a farm environment.
Schedule
Full-time & seasonal opportunities available. 40 hours per week position. Generally, Monday through Friday; in times of high demand, hours to be worked will exceed 40 per week. Qualified applicants must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
$27.00 – $31.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include:
