Overview: The Marine Outfitter handles installation and repair of essential marine systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical work; diagnoses technical issues and executes repairs per maritime regulations. Key Responsibilities: · Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair marine systems including propulsion, pressurized freshwater, and hydraulic steering/trim. · Install and service 12V/24V DC and 120V AC electrical systems, battery banks, bilge pumps, and integrated navigation/communication electronics. · Execute scheduled service intervals (oil/filter changes, cooling system flushes, winterization/summarization). · Mount and align engines, install through-hull fittings, and configure fuel delivery systems per ABYC/manufacturer standards. · Maintain accurate records of labor and parts and provide technical feedback to service advisors. · Other duties as assigned. Required Skills: · 2–5 years hands-on experience with boats, marine engines/systems, or previous outfitting/boat-building work. · Ability to read technical drawings, hull plans, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics. · Physical ability for labor-intensive work in shop/yard/dock settings and varied conditions. · Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, attention to detail; valid driver’s license. Preferred Skills: · Prior experience in marine-outfitting/boatyard/boat-building. · Familiarity with marine safety and installation guidelines for fuel/exhaust/water/waste and electrical systems. · Basic knowledge of surveys, sea trials, system testing, and inspections. · Comfortable working on multiple hull types (fiberglass, aluminum, wood). Physical Requirements: · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, bend/crawl, and work onboard vessels. · Ability to climb stairs/ladders; stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; work in all weather conditions. Working Hours & Compensation: · Full-time; Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm. · Compensation based on experience and skill level. · Benefits: Medical (PPO or HSA), Dental, Vision, Life, 401(k), Sick, PTO. Salary Description: $52,000–$90,000 DOE.
