Maintenance Technician II (HVAC Focus)

The Port of Skagit is looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our facilities team. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining and repairing Port buildings, equipment, and infrastructure across a variety of properties including the airport, marina, and business parks. We are especially interested in candidates with HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance experience, along with general maintenance skills.

What You’ll Do
In this role you will perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work across Port facilities. Projects may include HVAC diagnostics and repair, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, equipment maintenance, and general building repairs. You may also assist with facility improvements, grounds work, and preventative maintenance. You’ll respond to maintenance requests, track work orders in the Port’s maintenance system, and occasionally assist other maintenance staff with complex repairs or projects.
What We're Looking For
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years of facilities or equipment maintenance experience
- Experience with HVAC troubleshooting, repair, or maintenance
- Ability to operate common maintenance tools and equipment
- Valid Washington State driver’s license (must be insurable)
Preferred
- Trade school or technical training
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or welding
- Experience operating maintenance or construction equipment
Work Environment
This position works both indoors and outdoors across Port facilities and may involve working in various weather conditions. The role includes walking on uneven surfaces and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Pay & Benefits
Wage Range: $26.59 – $39.88 per hour
