The PACCAR Technical Center is looking for an engineering intern interested in vehicle controls and electrical systems on medium and heavy duty battery electric and diesel powered trucks. This position’s primary tasks include development support for diesel hybrid electric vehicle and advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) systems for PACCAR.

The Paccar Technical Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the development and validation of emerging technologies such as vehicle electrification and autonomous driving systems. Work with professional engineers on hands-on projects and learn state of the art technologies! The Paccar Technical Center is located in scenic Mt. Vernon, Washington north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
The Engineering Intern – Vehicle Controls will learn about powertrain and ADAS system fundamentals. The specific activities include:
Designing control strategies using The MathWorks MATLAB and Simulink software suites
Systems integration – including skills such as: ensuring basic design intent is met, mechanical fitment and clearance, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting communications issues between ECUs, sensors, and actuators
Support electrical architecture design decisions and system documentation for PACCAR Advanced Controls related projects
Coding experience desired, MATLAB, C, Python
Strong computer skills including Windows and MS Office
Excellent communication and technical writing skills required
Currently working for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or other relevant major
