The PACCAR Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn about PACCAR through a work assignment in the Global Engine team. Each intern will be integrated into division and department meetings, activities and events to ensure an understanding of PACCAR and our truck brands Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF. The Paccar Technical Center is a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the development and validation of emerging technologies such as vehicle electrification and autonomous driving systems. The Paccar Technical Center is located in scenic Mt. Vernon, Washington north of Seattle and south of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
The PACCAR Global Engine team is looking for a driven intern to support the investigation of improving instrumentation and related data acquisition systems that is used on internal Class 8 vehicles. Internships will include unique opportunities to:
- Provide support to the Global Engine development team for activities conducted
- Provide support for setting up vehicles for data acquisition
- Investigate potential improvements for data acquisition systems and instrumentation used
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with instrumentation on vehicles
- Analyzing results of instrumentation and OEM sensors
- Assist with report generation of results from testing
- Assist with updating data acquisition and instrumentation documentation
Qualifications
- Has a desire and passion to work in the automotive industry
- Preferred to have some knowledge of data acquisition and instrumentation
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
Education
Pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Automotive, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Graduate Students: $30.00/hour
