The Engine Test Lab Supervisor will work at PACCAR’s Engine Test Laboratory (ETL) in Mount Vernon, Washington. The ETL supervisor is responsible for managing a team of technicians and engineers that prepare engines for testing, configuring test cell and measurement equipment, performing powertrain tests, and summarizing results. Job Functions / Responsibilities

Responsible for supervision, development, work assignment, and performance tracking of engineers and technicians performing tests in engine and powertrain test cells

Provide powertrain test expertise with regard to cell and engine operation, emissions measurement practices, data analysis, and quality validation

Train team to use ETL software systems, including Puma, Concerto, ATI, EML, RMI, etc., to prepare test hardware, perform automated powertrain tests, analyze test results, and generate summaries and reports

Review project requests, discuss project test requirements with requestors, and formulate project plans, budgets, and schedules using PTC and DAF project management tools

Develop and improve test methodologies, with an emphasis on increasing uptime and reducing rework

Work with PACCAR colleagues to align EU and US powertrain testing facilities and procedures

Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relations with other departments and divisions
Required Qualifications & Skills

BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 5 years engineering experience in an engine test lab environment

Strong knowledge of engine test laboratory equipment and operations, including emissions test equipment

Proven experience using test cell automation software and post-processing tools

Proficiency using Microsoft Office, AVL Puma, AVL Concerto, ATI Vision

Strong knowledge of diesel engine fundamentals

Strong knowledge of industry and regulatory standards for engine testing in a laboratory setting

Ability to work well in a team environment

Prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred

Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively

Ability to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands

Self-directed, excellent analysis and technical judgment required
