Position Summary

Summary:

The position is primarily responsible for supporting a regional district and school in building capacity to implement and sustain systems of supports. The MTSS Implementation Coordinator will provide training and coaching to district and school leads and district and school teams to support their capacity in implementing a Multi-tiered System of Supports in their local schools. The MTSS Implementation Coordinator will help district staff and school staff implement MTSS with fidelity using the Tiered Fidelity Inventory (or similar measure) at the school level and assist the district providing the necessary supports for their school buildings to implement MTSS with fidelity for integrated academic learning and student well-being.

  • Support the NWESD and department equity goals to ensure equitable experiences and promote a culture of inclusivity and belonging that embraces the contributions of all team members through learning, advocating, and participating in equity-related initiatives.
  • Develop internal and external partnerships that advance systems-change in education settings.
  • Collaborate with the NWESD Regional Implementation Coordinator, maintain consistency, support implementation fidelity, and assist in development of content and processes.
  • Provide district and school level support through peer-to-peer networking, technical assistance events, and connect districts to one another to share examples and learning.
  • Provide technical assistance to district and school teams, including readiness for implementation, action planning, alignment, and prioritizing needs.
  • Provide training on MTSS to district and school teams.
  • Coordinate as needed with the Regional Implementation Coordinator in the development and facilitation of training to districts, schools, and other partners in alignment with statewide MTSS Framework. Regularly disseminate information between NWESD, local districts, including NWESD staff and school district personnel.
  • Support NWESD staff for alignment and consistency of support using the MTSS Framework.
  • Collect, analyze, and share data related to training and technical assistance, implementation, and outcomes.
  • Support districts and schools in collecting and using data to inform training and implementation planning, including use of district capacity measures and school implementation measures.
  • Support the collection and reporting of program outcomes to the deliverables of the applicable grants and/or contracts.
  • Use program information to coordinate and support continuous improvement collaboration, communication, and professional learning.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing or coaching academic and behavioral Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
  • Knowledge and experience in data collection, analysis or use in problem solving.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, to prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and a variety of stakeholders, including school district and educational service district staff.
  • Skill in teaching or presenting to adult audiences.
  • Ability to support the state’s and NWESD’s goals for student equity.
  • Ability to maintain the highest standard of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to implement educational reform at the district, regional, or state level.
  • Skill in positively influencing educational outcomes at a building, district, regional, or statewide scale.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with educators, parents and community members regarding educational improvement and research.
  • Knowledge of project development and management, task management, long-range planning, and program evaluation; has strong organization, writing, and facilitation skills. Projects will include working with employees, contractors, support staff, division partners, and school and district personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience at the school, district, state, or regional level using data to result in changed outcomes for staff and students. Masters in education, counseling, psychology, or other social science preferred. WSP/FBI criminal history background clearance required. Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of liability insurance required.

Employment Conditions and Benefits

8 hours per day, Monday - Friday, 190 days per year

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in an office environment; however, travel may be required for workshops or conference attendance. Lifts and carries a maximum of 30 pounds. Adequate manual and finger dexterity, hearing, speech, and vision are necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.

Hazards:
Those present in a normal office environment. Lifting and moving tables and chairs for workshop setup is a potential hazard if proper safety procedures are not adhered to. Routine travel may pose potential hazards including driving in inclement weather.

Salary Range

Schedule III, Range 13b (190 days): $85,454.40 - $96,231.20
