Concrete Plant Laborer, Maintenance – Burlington

Miles Sand & Gravel Company, a trusted name in the industry for over 80 years, is seeking a reliable and hardworking Ready-Mix Plant Laborer to support the daily operations of our concrete batch plant. The ideal candidate will assist with general plant maintenance and cleanup while working closely with the plant operator and other team members to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous production of ready-mix concrete. What You’ll Do:
- Operate site Filter Press and Enviro-Port to maintain environmental compliance of water treatment ponds, maintaining PH and Turbidity requirements.
- Assist with basic plant maintenance including equipment inspection, greasing, troubleshooting, part replacement, and upkeep of plant machinery.
- Operate Fork Lift during management of inventory and waste disposal.
- Operate Front End Loader to assist loading customers, plant, blocks, and waste.
- Shovel and hose down slurry and debris from concrete slab and surrounding areas.
- Perform general housekeeping and clean-up duties around the plant, yard, and equipment.
- Help monitor and manage material inventory and assist in unloading raw materials.
- Work in tight or confined spaces.
- Be able to perform tasks at high elevations.
- Communicate clearly with batch plant operator and team members.
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
- Other duties as may be assigned.

- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.

- Experience in operating a forklift and loader or willingness to be trained.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to listen attentively and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

- $30.08 – $40.10 per hour.
