Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM
Location: Mount Vernon, WA – Skagit Valley (just north of Highway 20)
Pay Range: $22.00–$30.00/hour (DOE) | Non-exempt, hourly
We’re looking for a Diesel Mechanic II to join our maintenance team and grow your career in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. This position is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in diesel repair who is ready to take the next step and continue learning advanced skills through onsite training and mentorship.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Assist in diagnosing issues related to engines, brakes, suspensions, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
- Conduct inspections and document findings accurately.
- Support senior mechanics during major repairs or component replacements.
- Test equipment to ensure repairs were successful and meet safety standards.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces, tools, and service areas.
- Participate in the on-call rotation as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience: 1–3 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Diesel Technology program (certificate or AA) is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and repair techniques.
- Ability to follow service manuals and written instructions.
- Basic computer skills for entering work order and repair data.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working alongside senior technicians.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. CDL a plus, but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable with bending, squatting, kneeling, and working in tight spaces.
- Ability to safely work in a loud, dusty, high-traffic environment.
