Hexcel is currently seeking a Maintenance Assistant for our Burlington, WA location. Hexcel Burlington is a great culture, provides a safe working environment and has a committed workforce. Summary pay range: $21.36 – $25.06 hourly wage rate.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
- Perform basic preventative and corrective maintenance tasks under the guidance of the Maintenance team.
- Rebuild production vacuum hoses and service floor scrubbing equipment.
- Inspect and maintain stormwater drain filters, air intake filters, rain gutters, and bioswales.
- Track and organize inventories of hazardous waste, e-waste, and recycling materials.
- Conduct safety inspections on equipment such as trucks, lifting slings, compactors, and ladders.
- Inspect, service, and replace equipment batteries.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks such as greasing equipment, changing light bulbs, and assembling carts or tables.
- Support janitorial staff with daily garbage collection and operate the floor Zamboni.
- Build production racks and run errands to pick up or deliver parts and materials.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and assist with one-off maintenance requests.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of facility experience in a factory or industrial environment.
- Ability to read and comprehend work orders, instructions, and short correspondence.
- Basic writing skills for internal communication and documentation.
- Strong verbal communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions.
- Proficient in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to follow detailed but straightforward written or oral instructions.
- Problem-solving skills for routine maintenance scenarios.
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and push/pull 40 lbs. sustained / 65 lbs. initial for hands-on tasks.
- Willingness to work in a team-oriented, safety-focused environment.
