Description

Title: Epic Cogito SQL Administrator

Location: Administrative Office – IT Department

City: Bellingham, WA

Position: Full-time 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, non-exempt (hourly)

Compensation: The full wage scale is $26.20 - $36.67 per hour starting, Once the applicant gains Epic Certification/Accreditation the full wage scale is $29.37 - $44.08. Placement within the wage range is determined by the candidate’s relevant experience.

Job Summary

The Epic Cogito Systems Administrator installs and maintains the Clarity Console and Caboodle Console used to transfer data nightly from the Epic operational database into the Clarity database, and then into the Caboodle database. They also monitor and ensure that the extract, transfer, and load ETL process is completed daily.

Essential Job Functions

  • Verifying that the Clarity and Caboodle ETL processes are completed daily.
  • Verifying that the SlicerDicer JumpStart is completed daily.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving Clarity and Caboodle ETL process errors.
  • Working with the Cogito Database Administrator to ensure optimal performance and integrity of all ETL processes by maintaining Epic best practices.
  • Installing, updating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the Clarity, Caboodle, SlicerDicer, BI RESTful, SSAS cubes, and Interconnectbased Cogito tools.
  • Modifying the Clarity and Caboodle ETL processes to meet organizational reporting needs.
  • Adding new Clarity tables and columns to the data model as needed.
  • Moving custom Caboodle data model and ETL development to production by working with the Caboodle ETL Developer.
  • Working with Business Intelligence Developers to provide data needed for reports.
  • Responding to emergency and afterhours issues.
  • Cross training in the roles and responsibilities of other IT team members to ensure adequate coverage for FCNs operational needs.
  • Assisting IT team members in responding to general phone calls and documenting problems in ticketing system.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Windows Server administration experience or training.
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting on Microsoft SQL Server, Windows Server, and IIS.
  • Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance procedure.

Epic Certification/Accreditation & Training Requirements

If a staff member is Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will determine if additional Epic training is required to assure proficiency or currency in the new assigned role and may provide Epic training at the organizations discretion.

If a staff member is not Epic certified/accredited prior to hire, FCN will provide Epic training at the appropriate timeframe based upon demonstrated aptitude, readiness for the training and the Epic training schedule. It is expected, that after the training is completed, the staff member will take the Epic Certification exam and become certified/accredited.

Although the staff member may be provided with up to two additional attempts to achieve certification/accreditation, if the employee is unable to do so, at the discretion of FCN, the staff member may no longer be considered qualified to meet the requirements of the position.

Training Requirements The Epic Cogito Systems Administrator attends the appropriate course track as designated by Epic.

Education & Experience:

  • Computer Science Related Degree (CS, Network Engineering, Specialty Training)
  • Epic Certifications a plus
  • SQL DBA experience a plus
  • Experience working in a medical environment a plus

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to: stand; walk; sit; use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
