Description

Title: Clinical Supervisor MA-C or LPN

Location: Squalicum Family Medicine

City: Bellingham, WA

Position: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm, Non-exempt (hourly).

Compensation: The compensation range for the Clinical Supervisor MA-C is $24.25 – $33.95 per hour and Clinical Supervisor LPN is $27.25 – $38.14 per hour. Placement within the range will be determined based on an assessment of your relevant experience.

Bonus Programs: Employees are eligible annually to participate in discretionary bonus programs, as determined by FCN, which include the Years-of-Service bonus program, the Quality Performance bonus program, and the Performance Recognition bonus program.

Essential Job Functions:

Leadership

  • Clinical Excellence: Performs the clinical skill set of their role (LPN) per FCN standards and act as a mentor, preceptor or trainer as needed for staff to achieve competency.

  • Ensure clinical staff meetings are held on a regular basis.

  • Acts as liaison between patients, staff and management at site, solving problems, issues and concerns in a professional manner.

  • Attends scheduled clinical leadership meetings to review regulatory, performance, clinical, legal/ethical or process concerns.

  • Actively participates in and promotes all FCN Initiatives.

  • Supervise and schedule clinical staff & other groups as directed by the Practice Manager.

  • Ensure clinical staff understand and adhere to appropriate protocols and processes as defined by applicable laws and Family Care Network.

  • Responsible for collaborating with other departments and agencies, including meetings and committees as appropriate.

  • Ensures routine clinical functions are monitored/assessed consistently to meet quality standards and compliance. (ie: medications and samples are checked for expirations and equipment is serviced and controls are performed according to manufacturers standards.)

  • Review and approve timecards as directed by Practice Manager.

  • Appropriate use and response to email in a timely manner.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensures clinical staff performs their role in compliance with applicable laws and FCN guidelines.

  • Responsible for ensuring adequate assessment, documentation and communication to Practice Manager and FCN administration when violation of policy, laws, rules or scope of practice is in question.

Performance Observation

  • Responsible for timely completion of new hire clinical training competency form.

  • Responsible for ensuring demonstration and observation of operational procedures that are site specific are completed within the 90-day time period.

  • In collaboration with Practice Manager, conducts annual performance reviews.

  • In collaboration with Practice Manager, provides coaching and disciplinary action as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Demonstrates clinical understanding of providing care per standards. Critical thinking, triage assessment, problem solving, and documentation reflect consistent meeting of standards, are demonstrated in meeting passing score of random chart review.

  • Consistently meets the overall Clinical competency standards for EMR documentation.

  • Accurately schedule, change, cancel appointments in practice management system.

  • Competency in accessing information from the hospitals EMR.

  • Effectively manage stress.

  • Discern and maintains confidentiality (i.e. HIPAA, proprietary information, disciplinary actions, etc.).

  • Works as part of a team, models a positive work ethic and customer friendly relations.

  • Prioritize and multitask detailed projects with frequent interruptions.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency working with MS Word, Excel, email and Databases.

  • Comprehend and communicate information accurately, clearly and professionally (verbally and in writing, in person and via phone) with patients, all levels of personnel, and other individuals and groups.

  • Our PTO and EIB benefits begin accruing from the first day of employment and employees are eligible to take paid time off after 60 days of employment. An employee accrues PTO at a rate based upon the number of months of service at FCN. A new full-time employee generally accrues 18 days per year. EIB accrues based upon the number of paid hours excluding overtime, with a full-time employee accruing a maximum of 48 hours per year. Benefit eligibility is determined based on the full or part-time status of the position. Employees who are ineligible for FCN’s PTO/EIB programs accrue Paid Sick Leave per Washington State law.

Our 401k retirement plan is designed to support you in preparing for retirement planning and include individualized financial planning guidance. Eligibility for the FCN Retirement Plan programs is determined based upon years of service and required payroll hours.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Completion of WA-accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Active or interim Medical Assistant Certified (MA-C) licensure through the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Current BLS or within 60 days of hire.
  • Medical office experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger coordination, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and listen attentively. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Immunization Requirements:

All employees at Family Care Network (FCN) are expected to meet and maintain required immunizations as a contingency of employment. The immunization requirements are as follows: Influenza (annually), Tdap (after the age of 19), MMR, Varicella or a verified history of chickenpox disease, Two-step TST or IGRA (within the last 12 months), COVID-19 vaccine completed series and any additional immunizations determined necessary for the protection of staff and patients. Hepatitis B is also required for employees in positions with a high risk of bloodborne pathogen exposure, which includes the following: Providers, RNs, LPNs, MA-Cs, PSRs at all Urgent Care Locations, and all-laboratory staff. The Hepatitis B vaccine is strongly recommended for all other employees. FCN will cover the cost of required immunizations for any FCN employee. All employee immunizations will be administered by FCN staff except for the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine can be administered at a participating pharmacy or other healthcare location. Note: A medical or religious vaccine exemption/reasonable accommodation will be considered by submitting an FCN Exemption form for review and evaluation by the Chief Medical Officer.
