Express has partnered with a family-oriented manufacturing company seeking great people to join their team of talented engineers, fabricators, and machinists. This company provides a professional and fun environment working with a diversified set of customers, products, equipment, and manufacturing processes. An AISC Certified Fabricator, they work with General Construction, Marine Construction, Renewable Energy, Space and Defense, and other industries with a need for metal fabrication and specialized custom equipment.

We are looking for a reliable and skilled CNC Machine Operator to support our machining operations. This role is ideal for someone with several years of CNC experience who can independently run machines, perform setups, and maintain high-quality production through precision machining and fabrication processes. You will work closely with leads and engineers while contributing to daily production goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery, including CNC lathes, milling machines, and CMM inspection equipment. Our shop utilizes Mastercam and Haas mills and lathes for machining as well as Verisurf software for our FARO Arm and a Laser Tracker for quality inspection.

What you get to do:

  • Operate CNC mills, lathes, or other machining equipment in a production environment

  • Operate and monitor CNC machines such as CNC lathes, milling machines, and CAM programming systems to produce parts according to specifications

  • Perform machine setups, including tooling changes, work holding, offsets, and program loading

  • Program CNC equipment utilizing Haas and Fanuc controls and other programmable logic controllers to optimize production runs

  • Read and interpret detailed blueprints, CAD drawings, and technical documents to ensure accurate machining and assembly

  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime

  • Support quality control processes by inspecting parts for defects or deviations from specifications using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools

  • Adjust machine settings, offsets, and tooling as needed to maintain accuracy and quality

  • Identify and troubleshoot machining issues to minimize downtime

  • Complete production documentation, logs, and quality forms

  • Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area

  • Collaborate with leads, engineers, and team members to meet production goals

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience operating CNC machines in a machining or manufacturing environment

  • Strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, cutting speeds, feeds, tolerances, tooling setup, and materials handling

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and measurement tools

  • Load and adjust CNC programming (G-code/M-code)

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Autodesk)

  • Experience with HAAS, Fanuc, controls

  • Perform quality checks using precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools

  • Ability to follow safety protocols diligently while working around machinery and fabrication equipment

Experience:

  • 2 or more years of machining experience in setup, and operating CNC equipment Completion of technical training in machining; or related experience and/or training

  • Familiarity with Haas mills and lathes

  • Working with CMM inspection equipment and software is a plus 

Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, sit, stand, and walk for the entire shift

  • Manufacturing shop environment with noise, machinery, and manual material handling

  • PPE required hearing protection, vision protection and other appropriate protective clothing

  • There is exposure to machine oil, metal, plastic and wood particles, unpleasant odors, and noise

  • Job functions on and around equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy, and safety awareness

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts, and may require overtime work

Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 (DOE)
