Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Technical support will be provided in various locations throughout the City that will require the ability to travel between sites.
Essential Functions:
Essential functions may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. This list is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY, and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by incumbents of this class. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Provides user profile setup and maintenance for all users of the City's network. 2. Provides assistance with Microsoft applications, Microsoft operating systems, peripherals and basic networking. 3. Investigates, diagnoses and troubleshoots computer hardware and software related problems throughout the City. 4. Installs new program software and organizes systems for most efficient use. 5. Sets up and configures new computer equipment and peripherals, such as PC workstations, printer, and other miscellaneous computer equipment. 6. Provides assistance to staff to solve problems involving hardware and software. 7. Performs preventative maintenance on computers and peripherals. 8. Mobile device management. 9. Manage tickets in a help desk ticketing system. 10. Assist with responses to public record requests. 11. Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines. • AA degree and one (1) year experience working in Information Technology providing service and support to end-users and configuring, supporting and troubleshooting user problems OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. • Information technology certifications preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: • Microsoft applications, Microsoft operating systems, peripherals, and have basic networking skills; • Computer hardware and software. • Mobile device and asset management.
Skills in:
• Oral and written communication. • Organization. • Using initiative and independent judgement within established procedural guidelines. • Helpdesk ticketing system.
Ability to:
• Work independently with little direction and efficiently organize work schedules and tasks; • Ability to develop working relationships with city staff, vendors and the public. License and Certification Requirements A valid Washington State Driver's License is required. Additional Information Physical Demands and Work Environment • Must be able to drive between City locations. Much of the work will include installation and repair of computer stations which will require frequent bending, stooping, kneeling and squatting. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Effective August 16, 2021, all new hires to the City will be required as a condition of employment to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to start date.
