Assistant Fire Chief

The Position:
The City of Burlington is seeking a highly motivated, progressive-minded public safety professional to serve as Assistant Fire Chief. This position supports the Fire Chief in the management and daily administration of the fire department, with direct oversight of Operations and Training, ensuring a high level of readiness, performance, and service delivery. The Assistant Chief plays a key leadership role in the development, implementation, and advancement of innovative and effective programs. This position helps shape departmental strategy and direction by identifying and achieving organizational, operational, training, and staffing objectives that are fiscally responsible and aligned with the department’s budgetary resources. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking leader who is passionate about service excellence and committed to continuous improvement, while fostering strong relationships within a close-knit, supportive community.
