Camp Korey is excited to announce we are seeking a Facilities Technician! In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintenance of Camp Korey property. This is a generalist facilities role for a multi-building, multi-vehicle, multi-grounds property.
What you'll be doing (with training and a team):
- Maintains general facilities and coordinates vendors in servicing mechanical, electrical, heating and cooling, plumbing, carpentry, water, septic, pool maintenance, carpentry and painting.
- Oversees volunteers in performing single event and ongoing projects and tasks.
- Provides input and guidance on the planning and scheduling of ongoing maintenance activities; adhering to timelines and costs.
- Performs maintenance and repair on fleet of vehicles: inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
- Cleans and inspects boiler and pool; treats water with proper chemicals.
- Repairs and replaces building parts such as doors and windows; repairs and replaces drywall/insulation; paints.
- Oversees and advises contractors, vendors or other licensed providers for necessary services; ensures services are performed according to contract and regulation.
- Interprets specifications and policies and enforces safety regulations.
- Maintains core camp infrastructure including electrical, water, septic, phone systems, security access, and others.
- Effectively uses an electronic tracking system that documents schedule maintenance, work orders, deficiencies, and time taken to complete work.
What you'll need to bring (necessary requirements):
- Experience in the construction industry or facilities maintenance including demonstrated knowledge in a variety of the following: handiwork, mechanical, electrical, heating and cooling, plumbing, carpentry, painting, landscaping, groundskeeping, water, septic, pool maintenance.
- Knowledge of the proper operation and maintenance of tools, equipment and machinery.
- Ability to learn and use necessary computer software.
- Demonstratable ability to handle several projects simultaneously with appropriate prioritization.
- A continuous improvement mindset to the services provided.
Certificates/Licenses/ Registrations necessary to meet Camp Korey requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with reliable self-transportation to areas not served by mass transit
- Immunization record with current vaccines and boosters
- Must obtain CPR/AED certification within first month of employment
- Suitable Background check
We'd love it if you already had (preferred requirements):
- Certification in any industry trade
- Experience working in multi-facility programs requiring self-management of schedule
- Life or professional experience with individuals with terminal or life-altering medical conditions
- Communication capability in multiple languages
- CPR / AED Certification
