The mission of Bargains Galore Thrift Store, a non-profit organization, is to provide funds to Mount Vernon Christian School to make Christian education more affordable. In 1994, a group of people, dedicated to supporting the mission of Mount Vernon Christian School formed a nonprofit corporation and opened its doors on October 6, 1994 in a building on South Second Street in Mount Vernon. In 2011, the mission was so successful, the organization was able to purchase its current location at 224 Chenoweth Street, Mount Vernon.
